I have studied English from the childhood, from kindergarten. At school it was difficult to study English, because in parallel we were study German, Russian and other subjects. However, I will say at once that the strict and exacting teacher and textbooks from Oxford – these are very efficient. The most difficult part of the learning a foreign language is that we don`t have the language practice with native speakers. I got my first experience with English in the USA, when I went on an exchange program “Work & Travel”. I admit that at first time it was difficult, because I was afraid to make a mistake or do not understand others, but eventually it passed.
As once told me one my teacher: “To communicate in a foreign language, you must think this foreign language”. I can recommend to watch soap operas, movies, TV-shows, cartoons in English with subtitles support. This is how work the auditory and visual memory. You can also listen to the music and teach the English lyrics, translate the songs. Read the books, writing every unknown and new word. In addition, there are many special programs for learning language, and language courses too.
Remember that learning any language is the systematic case, that will give you the great result, only when you constantly will study it.
