It is well known that the Duke of Windsor, whose name was given to this knot, didn’t invent it but at the same time it was he who played a prominent role in its dissemination.
Windsor knot is not a continuation of Semi Windsor knot as it is tied quite differently. In the process of setting you can change the size of the tie, depending on the width of the tie or the position of the narrow and wide ends. The size of the node is selected according to the width of the shirt collar. This knot is designed for the collar, the corners of which are wide apart, or the collar has the form of the “shark fin”.
1) Place the tie around your neck so that the wide end is 30 centimeters longer than the narrow.Cross the ends (the wide end of the tie should be located above the narrow one).
2) Pass the wide end in the resulting loop, and then lower it down.
3) Pull the wide end of the knot on the left side.
4) Once again, pass the wide end to the loop from the top to the down.
5) Point the wide end of the tie to the right over the narrow one, as shown in the picture.
6) Lift the wide end and pass it through the loop for the third time, pull it forward.
7) Finally, carefully pull the wide end to tighten the knot and tighten the tie to the collar.
8) If the ends of the tie does not match, start from the very beginning, respectively, adjust the length of the wide and narrow ends.
Make sure that the tie fits nicely under the collar and align the knot exactly in the center.
