Annihilation of Bin Laden is Actively Discussed In Social Networks

10 years after series of high-profile attacks, the United States this morning announced about the military operation near Islamabad in Pakistan, in which was killed Osama bin Laden. News of the death of “terrorist number one” literally have  blown social networks, especially its western segment.

If European network segments reacted with restraint, probably because of the nighttime, in the U.S. almost all trends on Twitter in an hour were filled with tags somehow connected with Bin Laden, its destruction, links to U.S. newspapers and excerpts from statements of Barack Obama which have been published in just a few minutes after his speech.

It is interesting to note that the news of the destruction of bin Laden began to spread at first only from official U.S. sources, in particular from Barack Obama Twitter account, where the tweet with an appeal to the whole nation was published. A little later, the data on the destruction of terrorist appeared on the pages of the newspapers The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and also in Associated Press and Reuters. The death of terrorist is also actively discussed on Facebook.

One of the first independent bloggers who wrote about the news was Larry King, who has  already gone from the TV channel CNN.

Broadcaster CNN reports that at least three unnamed U.S. government officials said that the body of Osama bin Laden is in the hands of U.S. authorities. Bin Laden is considered the main enemy of the United States after his attacks on New York and Washington on September 11, 2001. According to CNN, Osama Bin Laden was killed in a villa near the Islamabad, capital of Pakistan. As soon as the news appeared on television, a crowd chanting “USA!” USA! ” assembled near the White House.

In his speech to the nation, Barack Obama said that he gave the order either to capture or kill bin Laden. According to the president of USA, information on the whereabouts of  terrorist number one bin Laden came in August 2010. In March of this year the above mentioned information was confirmed. Finally the president Obama gave the order for the forces to capture Bin Laden. This special operation was conducted by U.S. Marines. During the shooting Osama bin Laden was killed. During the raid in which the leader of al-Qaeda was killed, one of his older sons was eliminated, too, reported Agence France-Presse citing sources in the U.S. administration. The name of the dead is not called. Total number of bin Laden’s  children is 19.

It is noted in the blogs that the destruction of bin Laden on the eve of the election race in the USA will be a significant advantage for Barack Obama.
