What is homeopathy?

Let’s see what homeopathy is. Homeopathy – is a therapeutic method of treatment, which is based on the principle of similarity – a substance that can in large doses cause symptoms in the body, in small doses is able to treat similar symptoms (similia similibus curantur).

Homeopathy is a herbal medicine?

The fact that homeopathy – it’s drug treatment based on herbs only – is a misconception. What is the raw material for homeopathic medicines? Anything that can cause certain changes in a healthy body and, accordingly, to treat similar symptoms in patients. It can be minerals, plants, fungi, separation of living organisms (snake venoms, wound discharge, etc.) and living organisms themselves (for example, bees, spiders). While some homeopathic remedies may seem quite exotic, the source of many of the above remedies is not as important as the  principles, according to which they are applied. This is what distinguishes homeopathy from other health care systems. In classical homeopathic pharmacopoeia about twelve hundred drugs are listed; the most widely used are 250 of them.
