How to protect your child beyond the home?

It is the best to explain for a child by your own the rules of conduct on the streets, the rules of communicating with people designing it on the examples of different situations. So you will feel more comfortable, because you explained to your child,  how to protect himself. Criminals often use the credulity of children. You need to explain for a child that not all people are safe to talk to.

What your child needs to know about his own safety?

• A child should never go out of school or kindergarten with strangers, even if they are referred to you.

• If you can not come to meet him at school or kindergarten, talk about this with your  child.

• Do not forget to notify the teacher, who will come to pick up a child.

• Ask the teacher to contact you, if strangers came to pick up your child, about which you have not been warned anybody.

• If somebody is trying to take away a child by force, it should attract the attention of people.

• If a child is taken to the police, he must inform his address, phone number of the  parents and his name.

While preparing a child to walk, do not wear the expensive jewelry on him, which can cause an attack. If you still have released the child for a walk alone, watching him from the window. Noticing that some unknown person came to your child, call him to go  home and immediately go down to meet him by yourself. Leaving a child on the street, arrange with someone of the neighbors, walking with children, to look after him.

Use the places to play, which are far from the highway, or a specially equipped area. Letting go a child, don`t forget to warn him about the most dangerous places, in particular that he can not go into the basement, to the attic, or hiding under the cars.

Be ready to tell your child about safety rules, if he likes to ride a bike or roller skates. Also warned your children about the communication with pets. Let children to remember, that they can`t play with other people’s animals. If child left home without his parents, he must leave a note, where and with whom he went, and when he will come back, and leave the phone number to communicate with him. It is necessary to teach the child to ensure, that if he is delayed, he should call parents and warn about it. In the case, where you intend to go on the mass event, festivals, on the market or in the supermarket, you need to prepare for emergencies. For this you need to sew on baby clothes the embroidered label or string name, child’s surname, the contact telephone number and medical contraindications. Dress your child in bright clothes, which will be easier to see. Take with you the pictures of the child. Show your child a notable place, where you can meet with him, if you lose each other. Do not let your child to hold your skirt, sleeve or bag handle, but holding his arm.

What to do if your child get lost?

1). When a child walks in the courtyard. If a child suddenly disappeared from the yard, try to learn from those, with whom he was with, where and with whom he went somewhere. Talk to the neighbors and acquaintances, maybe they have seen him elsewhere. Report about the incident to the police department in the community and your district inspector.

2). When a child get lost on the mass event. If a child get lost, look around, loud hail him by name, and if he did not notice, move to the venue, showing baby`s pictures along the way for people, who are around you. If you have noticed the child, do not call him and try not to lose sight of him, and go to him. Once you’ve found each other, do not scold him for misconduct. Teach your child that he should not react even to the most interesting and tempting offers of strangers, also he should not take any treats, toys, bags from strangers.
