How to receive the tourist visa to USA?

For some reason many Ukrainian tourists consider that it is difficult to receive visa to USA.

In 2014 before the US Ambassador in Ukraine Jeffrey Payette wrote in the twitter that  Ukrainians will be able to receive the American visas for a period of 10 years.

Americans quite loyal also issue visas much more willingly than, for example, Europeans. And if to take Payette’s message on “support of Ukrainians” into account, everything has to become even simpler.

What it is necessary to make for receiving a tourist visa to the USA?

There are three necessary steps to obtain the touristic american visa.

Step 1. We estimate chances

All you need for obtaining visa is filled anketa and your international passport. They probably will not look at other documents but you should take them.

But if you have a “blank” passport, there is no official work and you go to USA to visit of your boyfriend so the possibility to receive the visa will be near zero. But you can try good luck.

A consular fee is 160 dollars and in case of refusal it will not be back. So you can try unlimited number of times because the stamp with refusal doesn’t get to the passport. Only you have to remember that you have to pay 160 dollars every time you ask for visa.

If everything is all right with your work and  your official income. You have already traveled on the world so everything should be all right. The only problem which can happen to you is bad mood of the visa officer.

Step 2. We collect documents

If you are ready to transatlantic flight and travel across the USA so time came to prepare for signing up for interview in the American Embassy. For this purpose you need to prepare a package of documents and to fill in the visa questionnaire of DS-160 and to pay a consular fee of 160 dollars.

That “pieces of paper” can be interesting to the visa officer:

– the reference from work. It is very important to Americans to know and understand that you love Ukraine, and you don’t want to migrate at all to the States. In the USA all tourists are considered as potential migrants. Therefore the reference from work will become a guarantee of that in the homeland you have a favourite work which you can’t leave for a long time.

-certificate of a salary. As a rule, if you are officially employed so you need to give the certificate of the income for the last 6 months.

-the account statement in bank about the movement of money on the card. It is possible to take the paper how you spent your money the last 6 months.

-the certificate of real estate which you own. As a rule, there are enough copiers of the property right to the apartment or house.

-copy of the marriage certficate.

-certificate of child presence. Americans love that tourists who come out to the territory of the USA still had someone native and close at home that, in their opinion, is the guarantee of your return back.

-certificate of having the car.

-make a photo. It is best of all to address to the photocenter and to make it there. The photo will be required to you only in a digital format.

This list of documents will be quite enough for the typical tourist. If you have no car or real estate in property so you shouldn’t be upset. All these documents are only additional. The visa officer can even not look at them.

Step 3. Filling in the questionnaire of DS-160

So, you have already all documents on hands, it is possible to start the most responsible task and to fill in the visa questionnaire. This process also demands attentiveness. Filling of the questionnaire will require at least 60 minutes. But it can be tightened and for some days. Everything depends on your free time and assiduity. So, to fill in the visa questionnaire of DS-160, we go on the site of U.S. State Department and we start filling. During the filling you need:

-photo in a digital format which is required

-data on hotel in which you stay (the address, phone)

On filling of the questionnaire 20 minutes for one session are allocated for you. Therefore I recommend to write down questionnaire ID which the system will appropriate to you right at the beginning.

If you don’t notice how 20 minutes escaped so your data will be lost and it is necessary to answer all questions newly. Proceeding from it, follow the recommendation and more often save the questionnaire.

Step 4. Sign up for the interview

So, you spent a heap of time, but successfully filled in the questionnaire of DS-160. A factor of success is confirmation which is removed as total result. That will also be required to you. It needs to be unpacked. With this form you will also go for interview.

After payment of a consular fee you are ready to record on interview. It is best of all to do it on the Internet. We go on the site and we create the account. If all made correctly the record for interview will take from you no more than 10 minutes. Date and time will be offered to you. In the same place will ask you where you want to receive the passport with the visa. On a choice you will have a list of the centers of delivery.

Step 5. The interview.

Interviewing is the most exciting moment. The American Embassy is in Kiev to the address: Aircraft Designer Sikorsky St., 4 (former Tankovaya St.). Having come under embassy you will see huge crowd but be not upset. The turn moves quickly enough.

The interview lasts no more than 5 minutes therefore behave frostily and is sure, don’t panic at all. Answer questions of the visa officer distinctly, accurately. Your answers have to coincide with that information which you specified in the questionnaire of DS-160.

If you truly filled in the questionnaire, and the visa officer saw your close connection with Ukraine – everything will be ok.

Delivery of ready passports with visas takes up to 5 days.

Collecting documents, filling of the questionnaire, payment of the visa and record on interview it is possible to make in a day. But everything depends on how you will plan time. Totally, only a week separates you from the treasured visa to USA for 10 years.
