How quickly learn something? Study methods specially for you!

I am often faced with the fact that at the school and the university I had to memorize a text, a poem or a speech. But everytime I was looking for some study methods, which can help me to learn something fast.

However, if the text was in a foreign language, first, I translated it for better understanding in the native language, what it is talking about. I also like to highlight the key information by the marker with bright color. However, I reread the text several times, if it is large, I teach a paragraph or just fragments. This all takes place in the following order: I studied first paragraph, then I studied second  paragraph, then I told them together, then I attaching each studied paragraph. I also like  to dream, to imagine that information, what I`m talking about, mentally. And it helps a lot.

If I want to prepare for the tests, I try to teach the questions and correct answers, and when mentally repeat the question and answer, I ask for help from relatives, so they asked me those questions. It sometimes resembles the quiz. People say that there is method such as active reading, when you read a text very often, especially before the  bedtime and morning. Someone puts it under the pillow. Unfortunately, sooner or later a learned information is forgotten. But once it`s useful.
