And our tour begins with a stand where you have the opportunity not only to see but also to touch the material from which the figures are made.
As a result of extensive experiments and the search a unique formula of wax has been developed. It allows you to show figures in a wide temperature range: from “- 40” to “40 +” degrees Celsius.
This wax has no glossy shine, it is perfectly immitates human skin. In his works, the master uses high quality ocular prostheses, dentures and lively hair.
The postizher hair by hair “implants” them into wax using special hot needle, creating hair, in which there are up to 40,000 hairs. At the same technique eyelashes, eyebrows and beard is performed.
Then the barber mows and styles the hair into a hairstyle appropriate to a given historical epoch. And then make-up artist works…carefully, by hand, to create a “skin folds”, “wrinkles”, “nails”, “venas” and covers the wax with special makeup that is periodically updated.
The createion of an image of the historical character begins with a serious research work: the archival materials, descriptions of contemporaries, household portraits, engravings, photographs, posthumous wax mask faces and hands are thoroughly studied.
This gives the figure maximum portrait likeness to a real person. But this work is not limited. Each character is endowed with his typical gesture, facial expression, head turning, and the image takes all the features its real owner with a strong emotional impact.
