Russia demanded assurances that Ukraine will not join NATO

Press Secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, said that Russia needed “absolute guarantee” the absence of any intention inclusion of Ukraine in NATO.

“Russia needs to obtain an absolute guarantee that no country thinks about Ukraine to join NATO”, – he told the BBC.

According to him, at this stage of the Alliance is attempting to break the historical balance of power in Europe, which irritates Russia.
