Travel to Ukraine. Visa to Ukraine. Visa-free entry to Ukraine

Paramount it is worth noting that since 2012 the rules of entry of foreigners in Ukraine in terms of visa to Ukraine were significantly modified.

It should be noted that after the entry of new rules for obtaining visas to Ukraine into effect, the concepts “work visa”, “tourist visa”, “visitor’s visa” and “business visa” lost their relevance.

Types of visas to Ukraine:

Transit visa – marked with the letter “B”
short-term visa – denoted by the letter “C”
long-term visa to Ukraine – the letter «D»

Transit visa is required for foreigners who transit through the territory of Ukraine to another countries. The foreigner can stay in Ukraine for 5 days only.

Short-term visa in Ukraine should be given to those foreigners who plan to stay in the country for more than 90 days within 180 days from the date of first entry.

Long-term visa to Ukraine is required for foreigners who plan long-term residence in the territory of the State, ie more than 90 days.

Visa-free entry to Ukraine

Novadays the most urgent among foreigners is the question: “Do I need a visa to Ukraine for citizens of Russia, Israel, Turkey, the USA and the EU?”

Firstly, indeed these foreigners may enter the country on a visa-free according to the general rule. However, this applies to people entering the country for up to 90 days within 180 days from the date of first entry. In other words, there is no need to issue a visa type C and B for these people.

Secondly, the foreigners who plan entering the country for a period longer than 90 days need type D visa, because only this type of visa permits the presence on the territory of Ukraine for more than 90 days, and only type D visa is the only basis for a residence permit.
